This year I am honored to ride for Patrolman David Roberts of the Denver Police Department. Please read more information about his sacrifice here: http://www.odmp.org/officer/21166-patrolman-david-roberts
The hotel is quiet this evening, in fact I found the whole mood subdued today. It was great to see old friends but it just seemed quiet. Maybe its because I seem to be the only Battlefield District Rider this year. We'll pick up one more tomorrow evening for day two - but it seems a bit odd to be here by myself. This is my 9th ride with this group (in both forms) and I don't think I've traveled here alone since 2005.
Hopefully we can get the team back together next year. I know they all wanted to ride, but life happens. I'll post more from the road and maybe try to get our latest rider to blog after the second day.
We left the Fairfax County Courthouse around 5:30. Got down here mid morning. Worked on my final "final". Checked into my room, turned in my final. Had dinner with a dear friend and fraternity brother. It was great seeing him and listening to him. I heard pure joy in his voice when he spoke of his life, music and family. I am happy for him.
I need to get some sleep. Its been a busy day. More pictures tomorrow.
